After the release of the Zoomx Vaporfly 4% running kick featuring the flyknit material on the upper, Nike has been collecting data from the world best athlete to improve its functionality. When I say data, I mean information regarding how the shoe performs. People like Mo Farah and Shalane Flanagan are those that provided the information based on their experience with the shoe. So, based on the data collected, Nike has made some changes to the Zoomx Vaporfly 4%.
Unlike the previous Zoomx Vaporfly shoe, this new release will be featuring vapourWeave on the upper. The vapourWeave material is known for its exceptional moisture control, i.e. less water absorption. The material is also considered lightweight. Breathability is also an important function of the shoe. Nike Zoomx Vaporfly Next% features Nike swoosh logo which runs across the toe box. At the moment, Nike considers the kick as their fastest and lightest running shoe ever.
Gain More Speed With Updated Midsole
At the forefoot on the outsole, Zoomx foam is added to provide better energy return and shock absorption. Also, the full-length, carbon fibre plate underfoot is designed to increase improved propulsion leading to better pace on every stride. Nike has also worked to decrease the offset from 11mm to 8mm.
Get Better Traction With The Outsole
The outsole has also been redesigned to feature deeper-contoured threads. And, the design at the forefront has been updated. With the new improvement on the outsole, the platform will be able to provide proper traction on wet or dry surface.
There is a chance you will spot Mo Farah wearing the kick this coming London Marathon. For your information, the Marathon is the same day the kick will be released.
