Just like the Canvas version, it features the traditional lace-up fastening; the classic Converse toe cap is still there; the design is still a low-cut.
The traditional lacing enables wearers to customise their fits whereas another level of support and reinforcement are provided by the classic toe cap. In term of insole comfort, the footbed is cushioned to provide all day comfort. Converse complete the shoe look by branding the tongue and the heel.

Being the first in the low-cut category, the shoe was popular in the 1970s. It has been revamped over the years, but the design still sticks to its root. The new model utilises leather to make the shoe more distinctive and competitive. Based on the opinions of many users, the leather is more preferable to the canvas. There are some people that don’t mind if it’s leather or Canvas though.
In term of fit, the shoe provides some extra room. This may not entirely be an issue if you desire a wide fit. However, it’s quite an issue for those that desire narrow fit. In this case, it’s better to go half a size down to get the right fit.

A Brief History of Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Leather Ox
Is Chuck Taylor the founder of Converse Company? No, he isn’t, though sometimes people don’t see any difference between both names.
Here are brief facts about the brand, Converse, the shoe, and the man, Charles H. Taylor, popularly known as Chuck Taylor:
Converse Rubber Shoe Company was formed after Marquis Mills Converse started making shoes featuring rubber in their construction in 1908. In 1917, the Converse All-Star became an elite basketball shoe. The original material composition was rubber and canvas.
At the time when trainers were designed for functionalities rather than leisure, the Converse All-Star was a very well-known shoe in basketball sport. Its quality features and performance was like nothing else at that time. It’s known to be the first mass-produced basketball shoe in North America.
Charles H. Taylor or Chuck Taylor was a basketball player for Akron Firestone, the team which would later join NBA league. As a player that had seen some improvement that needed to be made in his Converse All Star shoe, he went to the brand headquarters in Massachusetts. His complained was about having sore feet while playing basketball with the shoe. The brand didn’t waste time by attaching ankle patch to the original shoe. Function of the new feature was to improve support and flexibility.
Chuck Taylor later joined the company as a salesman in 1921 after seeing a huge potential in the shoe design. He employed different sale strategies which yielded positive results. Some of his marketing ideas were the basketball clinics which he held across high school in America, the Converse Basketball Yearbook, and the teaching of basketball to the young ones. While delivering sale pitch and teaching basketball, he, at the same time, found a way to promote the shoe. Due to his effort and the success he brought to the company, the brand and the shoe grew to become synonymous with basketball.
In 1932, Chuck Taylor signature was featured on the ankle patch along with the Converse All Star logo. Many basketball players had chosen the shoe as their favourite by the 30s. In 1936, the white high-top model was designed. The shoe was worn by US troops for training and exercise. It would later become official trainers for US Armed Forces.
After the war, the white and black version of the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star was released. The new release gained popularity and became a favourite of many athletes, especially basketball.
Low profile version known as ‘Oxford’ was released in 1957. It became popular not only among basketball players, but also people looking for casual, smart, performance shoe. Apart from Canvas upper, the company embraced another material in the upper which is Leather.
