David Bowie Vans footwear Collection – Release Info

Early this year, Vans collaborated with Led Zeppelin to release a capsule collection of footwear and apparel featuring Vans Sk8-hi, Vans Era, Trucker Hat and Long Sleeve Tee. To add to their collaboration, they have selected another music legend, David Bowie. David Bowie is well-known for his musical genius. He’s a songwriter, an actor, an artist, and a singer.

Vans have selected four of their most famous sneakers as the capsule collection that will be released this week in honour of the music legend. Those four sneakers are Vans Sk8-hi, Vans Era, Vans Old Skool, and Vans Slip-On 47VDX. The collection is inspired by Bowie’s four famous albums namely: Aladine Sane, Space Oddity, Ziggy Stardust, and Hunky Dory.

There is no specific release date yet, but the rumoured date is stated below.

Vans Sk8-Hi

The Sk8-Hi references the Ziggy Stardust. The name “BOWIE” is printed on the upper. Below the name is a lightning bolt symbol, giving the shoe a unique Ziggy Stardust signature.

Vans Old Skool

Vans Old Skool is on the most famous shoes Vans has ever released. It is now featuring the lightning bolt from “Aladine Sane” on the upper.

Vans Era

Vans Era and Vans Sk8-Hi are the shoes selected to commemorate the Led Zeppelin 50th anniversary celebration early this year. The Era is now named among the selected shoes to pay homage to the music icon, David Bowie. It references the blue polka dots and signature scrawl from “Space Oddity”

Vans Slip-On 47VDX

The Hunky Dory is David Bowie’s fourth studio album. It was released on 17th of December 1971. Vans Slip-On 47VDX is the shoe that’s been selected to pay homage to the album. It features the Hunky Dory Mustard Yellow embellishment on the upper. It has a flash of Vans Checkerboard look on the upper and the midsole.
