May 21, 2019
Those that have used or known about the original Ultra Boost shoes probably know that they are among the best running shoes today. What make the footwear so distinctive are the approach to its design, technology, and the material employed in the process. Ultra Boost shoes feature breathable primeknit upper and boost midsole technology. Adidas hypes the boost as their most responsive cushioning ever. They also hyped Ultra Boost as the best running shoe ever.

The reviewer in the video below showed the look of the Ultra Boost 19 on feet. He talked about the upper: why it’s better than the previous versions, but not as stretchy as them. Briefly, he did some comparisons of the new and the previous versions. The boost midsole is one of the features he didn’t forget to mentioned. Just like the midsole, he also ensured that the viewers know about the continental rubber outsole.
Here is the video:
Ultra Boost 19 is a high-performance neutral running shoe which delivers amazing comfort and energy return, thanks to the update of the previous models. There is a recognisable improvement to the upper and the midsole. Just like the previous model, this one features primeknit upper and boost midsole. The outsole is designed to be flexible and lightweight. What separates this new version from the previous ones is the improvement made in the upper and the midsole.
The upper is made of the Adidas primeknit 360. The interwoven textile material is uniformly interlocked. View of the vertical and horizontal strands construction is like that of socks. It’s no doubt that wearers testified that the shoe wraps around the foot giving the socks-like feel. Seamless design is one thing, comfortable and snug fit is other, another thing that makes the shoe more desirable is its stretchy upper that naturally flexes with the foot in every step. It’s also worth noting that the upper is breathable and keeps the interior air cool and fresh.
There is no tongue on the upper so there is no chance of complaining about a tongue rubbing against the skin and causing irritation or any sort of blister. There is a well-designed collar to provide smooth and comfortable feel at the ankle area and also prevent accidental slip off during running or walking.
Even though this Ultra Boost doesn’t come with any tongue, Adidas still make sure it comes with lace to give wearers the chance of customising fits. The lace cage at the mid foot doesn’t only give a chance for fits customisation but also offers some level of support to the foot. Part of the supports of the lace cage is to keep the foot in place during running or any form of training.
At the shoe rear, Adidas 3D Heel Frame is featured to give the foot a natural fit at the heel and allow the Achilles to move naturally.
Adidas Boost midsole is a very popular midsole among Adidas shoes. The previous Ultra Boost features the Boost midsole so does this new version. The only exception is, Adidas claimed that the Ultra Boost 19 features an upgraded Boost midsole which gives 20% more responsiveness and cushioning. In Ultra Boost 19, the more energy you give, the more you receive. Reviewers confirmed this by saying that the energy return of the shoe is better than its predecessors.
Boost midsole is hyped as Adidas most responsive cushioning material. the technology is well-known by its shock absorbing and impact resistance ability. If you’ve used the previous Ultra Boost shoes or a shoe with Boost technology then you probably know how responsive the material is. Interestingly, this new version was upgraded to offer more of what the previous version does.
Adidas Torsion Spring can be found in the midsole and it’s visible on the outsole. The Torsion Spring is said to have the ability of keeping the foot in place and prevent it from quivering. Another function of the Torsion Spring is to give a supportive energy which propel the foot in every step during toe off.
Continental rubber is usually used for car tires. The material is good for surface gripping, and that’s what Adidas employed for the Ultra Boost 19 outsole.
Outsole of the shoe is designed for effective surface gripping in any condition, either wet or dry. It also has the ability to prevent the underfoot platform from any abrasion. The outsole configuration, also known as Stretchweb, is flexible and lightweight.
The shoe has a removable insole, so you have a chance to insert your own insole.
Size and Fit
The Ultra Boost 19 shoes are available in variety of sizes. You can get them either in a full size or half size depending on your fit. Most reviewers commented that the shoes fit true to size, so it’s okay to order your normal shoe size. In term of width, they are available with standard men and women width: ‘D’ – medium for men and ‘B’ – medium for women.
It’s hard to find something about Ultra Boost 19 that people are not happy about. First of all, the upper construction is aesthetically attractive, stylish and offer comfortable, snug fit. Secondly, despite the shock absorbing ability of the original Ultra Boost midsole, Adidas still upgraded it to boost its performance in the Ultra Boost 19. Thirdly, 3D heel Frame and Torsion Spring are incorporated to provide better feel. The shoe, in its glory, offers wearers lightweight and flexible ride.
At the moment, the one thing some users are not that happy about are the colourways. However, some fans feel like the colours are alright. Also, there are people that said the shoe is a value for money.
